I am looking for someone to do our taxes and general bookkeeping (Business). Can we set up a call?

Yes, we can set up a call. Prior to the appointment, we’ll need the following information:

  • What type of business is it?
  • When was the business incorporated?
  • When is your year end?
  • How have you maintained your bookkeeping records up until now?
  • What type of systems are you using?
  • Do you have any employees? If yes, how many?
Do you work with start-up corporations?

Yes and it is our field of expertise. We recommend Xero as the preferred accounting software to all our clients. We will assist you in the conversion of your current accounting system and get you started on the right foot. Contact us via Skype or by phone to have more details.

I’m looking for someone to do my corporate taxes this year. Everything is in Freshbooks. Can you help?

Freshbooks is a great invoicing and time-tracking tool and a large number of our clients are currently using the software. However, Freshbooks is not a proper accounting system and going forward we would strongly recommend using something more robust such as Xero. Please note that Freshbooks integrates nicely with Xero. Contact us if you need more information.

We would need to have our corporate taxes done rush. Please advise if this can be done fast.

We prefer not to expedite the onboarding process of our new clients. In most cases, government agents will be accommodating and extend initial deadlines. Contact us via email to set up a call.

Do you file taxes for USA based corporations?

No, unfortunately, we are not set up to file corporate taxes outside of Canada.

Which accounting software do you recommend?

Our preferred accounting software is Xero, for which we are certified experts.

Can you help us to move our desktop accounting system to one that is online?

Absolutely! And the best time to switch accounting software would be at the start of a new fiscal year. Contact us so that we can help you plan the switchover. A lot of work may be required to complete the conversion, it is important that you contact us prior to year-end.

Do you file taxes for corporations in any Canadian province?

Yes. Our head office is based in Quebec, but we are capable of filing taxes for any province in Canada. Since the majority of our services are conducted online, your location is not an issue.

Does your firm offer incorporation services?

We do not incorporate businesses ourselves; instead, we use a third party for the incorporation (www.incorpdirect.ca) and simply charge for our work to set up your business. As your accountants, we can provide valuable advice regarding the advantages of incorporation.

If we work together, can we drop off a box of bills at the end of the month and you take care of the rest?

Over the past few years, we have made a conscious effort to reduce/ eliminate paper from our accounting firm by using more efficient cloud software. Electronic documents are simpler to transmit, copy, search and store. Unfortunately, if your preference is to work with paper – we cannot serve you. Do you offer audit or review services?

We offer a compilation of unaudited financial statements only (Notice to Reader). If you require audit or review services, we can refer you to a different firm.

What are your hours of operation?

Our days of operations are Monday to Friday and it is possible to schedule an appointment during that time. Before arranging a video call, we would appreciate if you contact us first by email.

Can we meet in person?

We believe in leveraging technology and our preferred methods of communication are video calls, email and telephone. We offer excellent virtual support and often never have to meet in person. If after our initial interaction, you still wish to meet, we will gladly schedule an in-person appointment.

What is your hourly rate?

We price our services and provide you with the anticipated cost, before our work begins, to make sure that there are no surprises. We are professionals and are great at what we do. We do not track our time nor own any time-tracking software and we don’t care! We will invest as much time as needed to exceed all our client’s expectations and our team’s focus is always to provide you with excellent service.

Xero specific

Can Xero handle Canadian sales taxes?

Yes, Xero can handle sales taxes from each province.

Does Xero operate in French?

Xero is English only. We have created French templates for items which would be sent to customers such as invoices, purchase orders and statements of accounts. However, the backend that you see would be in English.

Does Xero connect to all Canadian banks?

Xero works really well with many of the large Canadian banks such as TD Canada Trust, RBC, BMO, CIBC and Bank of Nova Scotia. For other banks that do not offer the automated bank feed, there are electronic downloads available to import into the Xero software.
